Iogen Energy’s Cellulosic Ethanol Helps Fuel Drayson Racing in American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón

Ottawa, Canada 23-March 2010 - Iogen Energy announced today that its cellulosic ethanol helped fuel Drayson Racing’s “Lola-Judd” in the 58th running of Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, March 20th.  This is the first time Iogen Energy’s cellulosic ethanol has been blended into an E85 fuel for the demanding American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón.

Iogen Energy remains the only company able to consistently produce large volumes of cellulosic ethanol. The 500 gallons of cellulosic ethanol supplied were produced from wheat straw at Iogen Energy’s world leading demonstration facility in Ottawa.  The Drayson Racing “Lola-Judd” prototype finished twelfth overall in a field of thirty-four.

“This is another milestone for us and proof that Iogen Energy can deliver significant quantities of cellulosic ethanol on demand. The Mobil 1 Twelve  Hours of Sebring is the  ultimate road test in the American Le Mans Series, and we are thrilled to have been able to provide Drayson Racing with cellulosic ethanol,” says Jeff Passmore Executive VP for Iogen Corporation.

Cellulosic ethanol is a renewable, advanced biofuel that can be used in today’s cars. It can reduce green house gas emissions (GHGs) by up to 90% compared to gasoline. It is one of the most cost effective means of reducing GHGs in transportation.
